# Event Block Patterns Extension For The Events Calendar

Building pages and posts in the** **[**WordPress Block Editor**](https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/wordpress-block-editor/) (Gutenberg) is simple. It provides ready-made blocks and patterns that help to create attractive layouts without much effort.

However, the Block Editor doesn't include ready-made layouts designed for **event websites**. So, if you want to display event organizers and venues together or combine ticket information with an event countdown, you need to manually arrange multiple blocks.

This **manual process** is time-consuming and makes it hard to maintain consistent, professional-looking designs across your event pages.

The **[Event Block Patterns extension](https://web.archive.org/web/20250912065833/https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/event-block-patterns/) **overcomes this limitation by adding pre-designed layouts **directly** to the Block Editor.

Simply insert the block pattern you want, customise it, and you can create professional-looking event pages in less time.

In this guide, you'll learn what is the** Event Block Patterns extension** and how to use it in your event websites.

## What is an Event Block Patterns Extension?

Event Block Patterns is a free extension for** The Events Calendar**. It provides **ready-made block patterns** for the WordPress block editor, specifically designed for event websites.

You can create professional layouts for** landing pages**, **homepage sections**, **blog posts**, and **event** **content** without manually arranging multiple blocks, thus making the process** fast** and **easy**.

The extension includes the following** five pre-designed block patterns** for displaying common event content:

- **Organizer and Venue combo**:

This block pattern displays event **organizer** and **venue information** in a single, well-structured layout. The pattern works best with the venue map enabled, allowing visitors to view the event location and organizer details in one place.

- **Advanced Ticket Block**:

This block pattern displays **ticket details**, an **event countdown**, and a** call-to-action** button in a single section. Visitors can view the countdown and purchase tickets or register from the same page.

- **YouTube with Events**:

This block pattern lets you display a **YouTube video** along with event details. You can showcase event previews, highlights, or promotional videos. It helps to make your event pages more engaging and informative.

- **Sponsors**:

This block pattern helps you display **sponsor logos**, **names**, and **links** in a professional layout. It increases your event's credibility while giving sponsors clear visibility on the event page.

- **FAQ**

This block pattern provides a ready-made **FAQ section** for your event pages. You can answer common attendee questions in one place, reducing repetitive enquiries and making it easier for visitors to find the information they need.

All of the block patterns are fully customizable. You can modify their appearance by adjusting default colors, backgrounds, typography, and other design settings according to your requirements.

Next, let's understand how you can add these five block patterns to your event website by using the Event Block Patterns extension.

- Expand the **Events** category and select **Organizer & Venue Combo**. The pattern will be added to your page instantly.

On the left side, click "**Add or Find an Organizer**" to select an existing organizer or create a new one.

- On the right side, click "**Add or Find a Venue**" to select an existing venue or create one directly from the editor.

- Once you've added the organizer and venue information, you can customize the layout, colors, typography, spacing, and other design options from the block settings.

### Advanced Ticket Block

The** Advanced Ticket Block** combines an event countdown with an event ticket form, allowing visitors to see how much time is left before the event while providing a direct ticket purchase form in the same section.

Before adding this pattern, create at least one ticket for your event using the **Event Tickets** plugin. Without a ticket, the ticket form can not be displayed.

**Add the Advanced Ticket Block**

- Open the **Patterns** tab and select **Advanced Ticket Block** from the **Events** category.

- The extension automatically inserts a two-column layout.

- The left column contains a countdown shortcode.

- Replace the default **Event ID** in the shortcode with the ID of the event you want to display.

(**Note**: To add the countdown widget, make sure **The Events Calendar Pro** is installed and activated.)

- The right column automatically displays the ticket form associated with that event. If no ticket has been created, this section will remain empty.

- You can further customize the entire section using the available block settings to match your website design.

- Once you are satisfied, click Publish and preview the page.
