Do you want to display your event’s venues and organizers listing on your event website?

List Venues and Organizers Shortcodes Extension
The List Venues and Organizers Shortcodes extension is a utility extension for The Events Calendar that lets you create a list of event venues and organizers using shortcodes.
Simply create a dedicated directory of venues/organizers and display them on any WordPress page or post using a smart shortcode.
Now, let’s follow the steps below to create an event listing of Venues and Organizers:
- Before getting started, make sure to install and activate the following plugins:
Note: The List Venues and Organizers Shortcodes extension works without The Events Calendar Pro but when The Events Calendar Pro is active, each venue or organizer links to its corresponding event page. Without TEC Pro, the venue and organizer names are shown as plain text.
- After activating the List Venues and Organizers Shortcodes extension, it provides three new shortcodes. You can add these shortcodes to any WordPress page or post to display your venue and organizer listings:
| Shortcode | Purpose |
| [list_organizers] | Displays a list of event organizers. |
| [list_venues] | Displays a list of event venues. |
| [tec_list_linked_posts post_type=”…”] | Displays a list of event-related content, such as speakers, instructors, or other custom post types, instead of only listing venues or organizers. |
You can use the following attributes with these shortcodes to customize the content and sorting of your venue and organizer lists.
| Attribute | Use |
| limit | Sets the maximum number of venues, organizers, or linked posts displayed. Default is -1, meaning no limit. |
| order | Controls the sorting direction of lists: ASC (ascending) or DESC (descending). |
| orderby | Controls which information is used to arrange or sort the list. It accepts WordPress WP_Query orderby parameters, such as post_title, date, modified, or menu_order. |
| exclude | Excludes Venue or Organizer post IDs from the results. |
| include | Displays the Venue or Organizer post IDs. |
| author | Filters results by the author/user ID. It can also use current_user. |
| thumb | Set to yes to display the Venue or Organizer’s thumbnail/featured image. |
| details | Set to yes to display additional details about the Venue or Organizer. |
| count | Set to yes to display the number of upcoming events associated with each Venue or Organizer. |
| hide_empty | Set to yes to hide Venues or Organizers that don’t have upcoming events. |
